Trees Are Important

Every year, 3-6 billion trees are cut down. If there weren't any trees on earth we would all die from a lack of oxygen. Do we need to chop down that many trees in only one year? On one side, there are people who make profit out of it. On the other side, there are people who want to protect the forests. In life you need to buy things made of wood, but the consumers are unaware of the effect. I believe we shouldn't over exploit earth's ressources and that we should only take the wood we need. I believe that we should reuse/recycle wood and plant more trees.

First of all, if we didn't over log we would have cleaner air and we would preserve wildlife habitats. For example, if Americans recycled the New York Times, we would save about 250,000,000 trees per year. Did you know that 70% of earth's animals live in forests? If we cut down all of earth's trees 70% percent of animals would die! Therefore if we planted trees we would preserve wildlife!

I understand that some people desperately need to cut down trees to earn money to feed their families  but that's not the people I'm against. I'm against corporations who make millions without caring about nature.

In conclusion, we are currently over logging, but if we plant more saplings and recycle wood we can have cleaner air and preserve wildlife.

I have planted 9 trees so far and I am 10. I challenge you to plant 61 trees each year and if everyone did it, I would have to give you a thumbs up!

This is a video about Jadav Payeng who single handedly planted 1360 acres of trees in 30 years.

This is a short film about Brendon Grimshaw who lived alone on Moyenne island and made it a national park.
